Application contents

The following items must be included in your application:

  • Application form;

  • Passport;

  • One (1) passport photo;

  • CAQ letter of acceptance

    • This document is also used as a provincial attestation letter (PAL) when it is required;

  • Official letter of admission from the educational institution;

  • Proof of financial capacity;

  • Family information form.

Depending on your situation, you may also be required to submit other information:

  • Study plan: Even if not requested, anyone in a situation where the risk of refusal is significant should include it in their application;

  • Summary: Anyone requiring a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) should include it in their application;

  • Authorization to stay in the country of residence and a letter explaining the reason for travel along with the country to which you will be returning after your stay in Canada: Anyone whose current country of residence is different from their country of nationality must provide these documents;

  • Biometric data: This data may be requested after the application has been submitted, when required;

  • Medical examination: The results of a medical examination must be provided by any person who has lived in certain countries or territories for at least six (6) consecutive months during the year preceding their arrival in Canada (see the list of countries or territories to find out the countries covered by this measure). If a medical examination by a physician designated by IRCC is required, the visa office will specify the procedure to be followed.
