Provide proof of your financial capacity
Several types of documents can be submitted to demonstrate financial capacity. Here is where you can find the full list of documents that you can use:
When applying for a CAQ:
on the MIFI website: Required documents for your application
When applying for a study permit:
on the IRCC website: Proof of financial support
Regardless of when proof of financial capacity is submitted, it must be recent and cover a period of at least 4 months.
How to present proof?
It is important to pay particular attention to the supporting documents that must be included in the study permit application, in order to demonstrate sufficient financial capacity to complete the studies.
1. Number supporting documents
It is a good idea to number the supporting documents in a summary or table, clearly indicating the funds required for the study stay and the source of these funds.
2. Convert amounts
We strongly recommend that you indicate the amounts in your local currency, then convert them into Canadian dollars using a currency tool such as the XE currency converter.
3. Attach one (1) PDF document only
Supporting documents should be attached in a single PDF document, with the summary or table on the first page. The presentation of financial capacity must be clear and easily readable by the immigration officer who will analyze the application.
